About This Event
Hammerdown presents A local showcase session, celebrating local rock and metal acts on the 18th October at Green Door Store Stone Angels: Hard Hitting, rock n’ rollin’ four piece Stone Angels are proving to be the untamed beasts of the Hard Rock scene. Coming at you from the vibrant cornucopia of Brighton’s ever expanding music scene, this is a band that is creating its own storm in venues across the UK. Born out of the ashes of several broken bands, Stone Angels were spawned in 2011 and soon set out their own manifesto, pulling inspiration from the classic LA rock, Seattle's iconic grunge, and legendary UK rock scenes, whilst still offering a very fresh take on the classic rock genre. The band has more than succeeded, but it has not been without an enormous amount of grit and determination. The riff slingers stormed out of the underground with their debut album 'Give in to Temptation', which flaunts eleven burning beacons of ballsy hard rock. Boasting a flurry of sledgehammer riffs, colossal choruses, and unabashed wailing solos, the album is a game changer for the Brit rock ‘n’ rollers. Featuring their single 'Can You?' which rings in the ears of Team Rock & Kerrang radio listeners. 2025 saw the band release their critically acclaimed second album "Up In Smoke" which levated the band to new heights playing festivals such as Summerside, Planet Rockstock & Monsterfest. Rogue Awakening: Rogue Awakening are a hard rock/alt metal band from Horsham. Their sound is essentially ‘heavy but melodic’, with crunchy, thick guitar riffs and epic, soaring female vocals. The band unites lots of different musical backgrounds and tastes from Indie to Death metal. When fused together this creates a melting pot of fast flowing bass riffs, shredding guitars, hammering drums and powerful vocal hooks with a symphonic edge. The band have supported acts such as Ice Sealed Eyes, Sacrilege and Eville and are on the bill for festivals including Guilfest (2024 and 2025), Socketfest 2026 and Haslemere Fringe 2026. They have played in the BBC Introducing Live Lounge and have had play-time for 6 singles on BBC Introducing Sussex. The Hellfire Club: Famed for their thunderous live show, the Hellfire Club are a seditious hard rock band hailing from Brighton, UK. Inspirations are drawn from both sides of the pond stretching back to 70’s UK rock/metal scene, all the way through to today’s stadium filling rock anthems. Hard hitting lyrics evoke unity, strength and equality... and even the proletariat spirit of stringing up the tax man... a band that Oozes authenticity and boy do they own it! Archers Killing Archers: Formed in June 2024, powerhouse 5-piece Archers Killing Archers burst onto the scene with their unique blend of hook-driven hard rock, with punk and grunge influences. Their roaring live sound echoes greats like Foo Fighters, Volbeat, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, with riff-driven anthems, thunderous drums and vocals that hit you right in the gut. Archers Killing Archers have taken their volcanic energy to the stage in support of bands such as Praying Mantis and MADAM - but this is only a taste of what’s to come. 2026 looks to be the start of something big, so look out for Archers Killing Archers this year!
